A Historical Journey Through Humanity’s Transportation Story
Featuring selected pieces from the extensive collection of the Rahmi M. Koç Museum, one of Türkiye’s leading cultural institutions, the “Horsepower” exhibition explores humanity’s transportation journey and the evolution of motor vehicles through a historical lens.

The exhibition highlights the significant role horses have played throughout history in transportation, freight carrying, art and culture. It also draws attention to how the concept of horsepower became one of the defining symbols of engineering. Inspired by Rahmi M. Koç’s interest in both horses and automobiles, the exhibition brings together art and engineering through automobiles and horse figures from the museum’s collection, connecting the past with the future.
First Presented During the Museum’s 30th Anniversary Celebrations
The “Horsepower” exhibition was first presented in Istanbul as part of the Rahmi M. Koç Museum’s 30th anniversary celebrations and attracted considerable interest from visitors.
Tracing the place of the horse in art and engineering from the 2nd century BC to the present day, the exhibition was organized under two main themes: Horse Figures from the Rahmi M. Koç Collection and Automobile Stories from the Rahmi M. Koç Museum.
Free Admission Until 31 December
The “Horsepower” exhibition will be open to visitors free of charge at Esat Hâl Gallery from 4 June to 31 December 2026.
