The Respected Father Exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center and the Chilgok Art Center, has opened for visitors at the Korean Cultural Center Exhibition Hall.
THE Exhibition features works by artists such as Chilgok Art Center President Seo Se Seung, Kwon Ki-taek, Kim Kyeol-soo, Noh Yeol, and Shim Hong-jae, who reinterpret and address the figures of husbands, fathers, and men through contemporary art. One of the artworks related to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founding leader of Turkey, has garnered significant admiration from visitors.
A LOVING FAMILY
The exhibition starts with Shim Hong-jae’s performance art named Traces of Atatürk. This performance symbolized the footprints of the Turkish people, who follow in the footsteps of their respected leader Atatürk, in commemoration of the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Turkey. In his speech, Chilgok Art Center President Seo Se Seung said, “I hope everyone attending this opening ceremony has a loving family that honors and remembers their fathers with respect and love.”
DEEPENING BILATERAL RELATIONS THROUGH ART
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Yeondoo Jeong stated, “This is a great opportunity to reflect on the idea of the ‘father’ as a respected figure, even a god, through contemporary Korean art.” Jeong added, “I hope the relations between Korea and Turkey deepen even further through art.”
The exhibition will remain open until September 20.
