World-renowned British violin virtuoso Madeleine Mitchell performed a distinguished recital at the British Embassy in Ankara, blending classical and contemporary works. Young Turkish artists Cihan Yücel and İdil Dündar accompanied Mitchell on stage, adding a cross-cultural harmony to the evening.

Organised in collaboration with Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, the concert gathered prominent figures from the diplomatic, cultural, and artistic communities. Mitchell, recognized as one of the United Kingdom’s leading violinists, performed works by Edward Elgar, Howard Blake OBE, Michael Nyman CBE, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Stuart Jones, alongside compositions by Turkish composer Tolga Yayalar, celebrating the musical bond between the two nations.

British Ambassador to Türkiye Jill Morris, who hosted the event, emphasized that cultural appreciation continues to deepen bilateral ties, noting that “cultural exchange is one of the cornerstones of our bilateral relations and I am proud that the British Embassy can play a role in fostering such meaningful connections.”
