A Double Bass Masterclass was held at MAD Art Academy, hosted with the support of the Anatolian Contemporary Arts Association and led by the world-renowned double bass soloist, musician, and luthier Thomas Martin.
Organized at the invitation of Suna Dinçer and Berkan Başaran, the six-day event brought together conservatory students from across Türkiye. At the end of the training, students had the opportunity to showcase their newly acquired technical and musical skills in a final concert performance.
Throughout the masterclass, Martin shared his extensive musical and technical expertise gained over a distinguished career, offering participants a truly unique educational experience. The program welcomed double bass students from Dokuz Eylül University, Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, Trakya University, and Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory.
The training sessions aimed not only to enhance the students’ technical proficiency on the instrument but also to deepen their musical expression and instill a strong sense of professional discipline.
